DeCarla Pearsall, BSN, RN, CMDCP, CDP, CGCP, CTP is a New Jersey native who has called Delaware home since 1996. She began her career in healthcare at Christiana Care as a patient care technician, driven by a deep passion for the field. Pursuing her dreams, she earned her LPN and RN licenses before obtaining her BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Additionally, DeCarla holds a degree in Psychology from Salem College. She has since expanded her expertise, becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Practitioner (CMDCP) through the NCCDP. Most recently, she achieved certification as a Holistic Manual Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner.
Since becoming a nurse in 2006, DeCarla has gained diverse clinical and administrative experience across various healthcare settings. Her career spans skilled rehabilitation nursing, long-term care, sub-acute care, Alzheimer's and dementia care, assisted living, hospice, hospital case management, and hands-on home care. Over the past decade, she has served as a Director of Nursing for assisted living and memory care communities in New Castle and Kent County, Delaware. Today, she leverages her extensive expertise as a consultant for local healthcare facilities.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, DeCarla is known for her warm and vibrant personality. A social butterfly at heart, she enjoys traveling, swimming, reading, bonfires, and quality time with loved ones. She is happily married and the proud mother of two sons, ages 14 and 26. Her eldest recently graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor's degree in Health Behavior Science and a Master's degree in Public Administration—an achievement she holds dear.
